Family Conference – July 15-22, 2017

Dr. Gary Thomas is a bestselling author and international speaker whose ministry brings people closer to Christ and closer to others. He unites the study of Scripture, church history, and the Christian classics to foster spiritual growth and deeper relationships within the Christian community. Gary’s books have been translated into more than a dozen languages and won numerous awards. His writings have established him as a thought-leader in the areas of marriage, parenting, and spiritual formation.

He holds an MA degree in systematic theology from Regent College, and an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Western Seminary. Gary serves on the teaching team (and as Writer in Residence) at Second Baptist Church, Houston, and is an adjunct faculty member at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. Gary’s speaking ministry has led him to speak in 49 states and ten different countries, and on numerous national television and radio programs, including multiple appearances on Focus on the Family and Family Life Today.

Dr. Rick McKinley serves as lead pastor at Imago Dei. He and his wife Jeanne moved to Portland to plant Imago Dei Community with 8 year old twins, a two year old and a one year old. Today, besides his pastoral and preaching duties with Imago, a church of 2000 people, Rick travels widely to share local movements like Advent Conspiracy with the broader church. He also serves as faculty at Multnomah Seminary. His books include The Answer to Out Cry, Jesus in the Margins, Advent Conspiracy, This Beautiful Mess, and A Kingdom Called Desire. Rick and Jeanne enjoy spending time with their kids and thanking God for all He has done and continues to do in the community.
